Bengaluru: BJP leader G. Madhusudan has urged for renaming Nazarbad in Mysuru as Basavanatittu.
He said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been renaming the cities there and urged the authorities to follow suit and rename Nazarbad as Basavanatittu.
Continuing, he said that Nazarbad, which is located next to Mysore Palace, was earlier known as Basavanatittu but Tipu Sultan changed the name during his rule which is mentioned in the pages of history and urged CM H.D. Kumaraswamy to rename Nazarbad.
