Mysore/Mysuru: With a view to control the spread of Coronavirus, all public places in Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram — Sri Datta Venkateshwara Temple, Datta Temple, Prayer Hall, Annapoorna Mandir, Shukavana Bird park, Bonsai Garden, Vishwam Museum and Nada Mantapa — have been closed.
Daily darshan and programmes of Ashram’s Seers Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji and Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji have also been cancelled.
All Ashram activities are suspended till further notice and devotees and public are requested to co-operate, according to a press release from the Ashram.
Masks replace prasadam
In an effort to create awareness among the public regarding Coronavirus and Bird Flu and take necessary precautionary measures, Avadhoota Datta Peetham in the city distributed masks to the devotees instead of prasadam yesterday.
After completing the daily rituals, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji at the Ashram on Ooty Road distributed masks to Ashram staff as well.
As Ashram had advised the devotees not to visit the place in large numbers, there were very few visitors yesterday, who also received masks from the Seer, who himself was seen wearing one.
