Ganigas demand formation of Development Corporation

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that Ganiga community is a Backward Class community, the District Ganiga Association has urged the Government to form a Development Corporation for the community on the lines of other castes.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, Association President N.C. Umesh said that Ganigas are a Backward Micro-Community, lagging behind economically, socially and academically. Noting that the community is currently classified under 2-A Category, he said that the setting up of Ganiga Development Corporation would hugely help the community, which has a small population.

He further said that a massive Ganiga Convention would be organised soon to press the Government for formation of Ganiga Development Corporation.

He also said that applications have been invited from meritorious community students who have scored high marks in SSLC and PUC (2019-20) for presentation of Pratibha Puraskar. For details, contact Mob: 98860-28262.

Association office-bearers N.T. Srinivas and M. Mahadev were present during the press meet.
