R.G. Singh of Ramsons to speak on Board Games at Chitra Kala Parishat
Mysuru: A week-long exhibition, workshop and seminar on Ganjifa Cards will be held at Chitra Kala Parishat in Bengaluru from May 2 to May 8.
The exposition, hosted by Karnataka Chitra Kala Parishat, will be inaugurated by M. K. Shankarlinge Gowda, IAS (retd.), President, Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Harish J. Padmanabha, Vice-President, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, will preside.
Vimala Rangachar, President, MEWS Ladies Club (Bengaluru) and former President, Crafts Council of Karnataka, will be felicitated on the occasion.
The seminar which will be held on May 7 and May 8 from 11 am – 12 noon and from 2 pm – 3 pm will feature the following speakers: Dr. Arunipathi who will talk on Orissa Cards, R.G. Singh (Secretary, Ramsons Kala Pratishtana) will speak on Board Games while Dr. Shankar M. Kundagol will elaborate on Ganjifa Art. The talks will be followed by a dialogue between Dr. Pramila Lochan and Sudha Venkatesh.
R.G. Singh will also speak on the legacy of Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar to the world of Traditional Board Games.
The valedictory function will be held on May 8 with Nadoja J.S. Khanderao, eminent artist from Kalaburagi, delivering the valedictory address. A. Ramakrishnappa, Vice-President, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, will preside.
Dr. M. J. Kamalakshi, General Secretary, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat and Prof. Tejendra Singh Booni, Principal, College of Fine Arts, will be present.
