Geethadhaare on July 20

Mysore/Mysuru: Sugama Sangeetha Academy Trust, Mysuru has organised Geethadhaare, a Geetha Gayana programme at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar here on July 20 at 6.30 pm.

On the occasion, vocal concert will be presented by Ganesh Desai and Chandani Garthikere. They will be accompanied by Sameer Rao on flute, Ranjan Kumar Beura on violin, Athamarao Naik on tabla and  Vinay Rangadhol on rhythm pad.

Profile: Ganesh Desai, who hails from Dandeli, Uttara Kannada district, started learning Hindustani vocal at a very young age from his father Vibhakar Desai.  He started learning Hindustani classical music from Sujatha Bhat and R.P. Asundi;  learnt tabla from Dattatreya Hegde and harmonium from Vasanth Kanakapura Dharwad.

He has achieved “Visharad Grade” music exam from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Miraj and “Visharada” in tabla from Gandharva Vidyalaya. He has performed in All India Radio as a “B High” artiste.

An MBA from Bangalore University, he currently runs his own school “Samarasa Foundation for Arts” and has taught music at Greenwood High and BVB.

He has performed at  several National and International festivals and has many Audio Albums to his credit.
