Mysore/Mysuru: Mythri Charitable Trust, a School for Persons with Intellectual Disability, will present ‘Geetu Geechu,’ an art exhibition featuring works by its students, tomorrow at Suchitra Art Gallery in Kalamandira premises from 11 am onwards.
The expo will be inaugurated by Shubha Sanjay Urs, Founder Chairperson, Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust and Mysuru Literature Festival. Saswati Singh, Founder, Nav Prerna Foundation, Dehradun, working towards independence of persons with autism, will be the guest of honour. Ajith Pai, Industrialist, will be the special guest.
Founded in 1973 and formally established as a Trust in 1982, Mythri has over four decades of experience in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, with a focus on life skills, creative expression and building independence.
The exhibition, held as part of Autism Awareness Month, highlights the students’ unique perspectives through art and aims to encourage greater awareness and inclusivity in the community.
Many of the participating students come from economically challenged backgrounds and live with varying levels of intellectual disability. The exhibition offers a meaningful opportunity to engage with their work and support their journey.
