Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Bengaluru-based cartoonist B.V. Panduranga Rao was presented with the prestigious Genius Foundation’s Genius India Achievers Award for his outstanding achievements in various fields. The Award was presented to him at the 8th Genius Indian Achiever’s Award-2023 felicitation ceremony held at the Pride Plaza Hotel, Ahmedabad, on June 11. He received the Trophy and the Genius Cartoonist Certificate.
Many noted National and World Record holders, Achievers and noted Personalities were present at this function.
Panduranga Rao is a retired Engineer from Bhilai Steel Plant and a Hobby Cartoonist for the past 55 years. He was born in Mysuru and studied in Chamundipuram Middle School and Hardwicke High School before continuing his studies in Bengaluru.
Aged 79 years, he has created over 10,000 cartoons/ illustrations for publications and other various purposes. His various creations and achievements have been recognised 14 times in Limca Book of Records, 13 times in India Book of Records, 6 times in Unique World Records, 3 times in World Record India, URF Asia Record, Elite World Record and recipient of Asia Grand Master Award, URF Talent Award and URF legend award. He has won numerous prestigious National and international awards and honours too.
Earlier, he was awarded I Can Foundation Humanitarian National Excellency Award-2020 and was felicitated by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam with Life Time Achievement Award at Cartoon Festival-2011 at New Delhi.
