Goa’s Ritviz Parab triumphs Thejkumar of Mysuru finishes third

Ritviz Parab (Goa), D. Yashas (Kar) and GM M.S. Thejkumar (Kar) tied with eight points from nine rounds, but the former with a better tie-break score of 59.5, clinched the title in the 3rd DDCA All India Open FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held at KLE Institute of Technology, Hubbali, from Oct.27 to 31.

In the final round, on the top board playing with white, Karnataka’s D. Yashas beat Maharashtra’s Sameed Jayakumar Shete (7.5), while in the second board, Ritviz Parab beat Niraj Sariipalli (Goa). In the third board, GM Thejkumar from Mysuru beat Herman Dain Saldhana.
