Mysore/Mysuru: Metagalli Police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.2 lakh from the house of the accused’s relative in city.
On Dec. 18 at about 7.30 pm, the accused, who went to Kailash Bankers and Jewellers on Hebbal Main Road in Metagalli Police limits, threw chilli powder to the eyes of the worker there and had looted 14 gold chains and one finger ring before fleeing from the spot following which the shop owner had lodged a complaint with Metagalli Police.
The Police, who took up the investigation, collected CCTV footages of the cameras installed in the vicinity of the jewellery store and a special Police team was formed to nab the accused. Based on various sources, the Police identified the accused as Narender of Chowra village in Jalore district of Rajasthan.
The special Police team, then left for Rajasthan and stayed put for a week there and met Narender’s mother and informed her about Narender committing the crime. She is said to have informed the special Police team that her relatives stay at Vijayanagar 4th Stage and Narender may have hidden the stolen booty at the house.
Based on her information, the special Police team left Rajasthan, came back to Mysuru, inspected the house at Vijayanagar and found the stolen gold ornaments there. The Police have spread a dragnet to nab absconding Narender.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and N.R. Sub-Division ACP Shivashankar guided Metagalli Inspector A. Mallesh, Sub-Inspectors K. Vishwanath and Nagaraj Nayak, ASI Ponnappa and staff Diwakar, Prashanth Kumar, Krishna, Madhukumar, Likith, Srishaila Huggi, Asha, Chethan, N.R. Sub-Division Crime Detection Squad ASI Anil Shankapal and staff Lingarajappa, Ramesh, Kantharaju, Hanumantha Kalled, Gowrishankar, Technical Unit Inspector Jagadish and staff Gurudeva Aradhya, Manju, Kumar and Shyam Sundar in the operation.
