Mysore/Mysuru: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Mysuru retrieved and returned a gold mangalsutra (thaali) that had accidentally fallen into a train toilet.

A ‘Rail Madad’ complaint was received on Feb. 8, reporting that a passenger’s gold mangalsutra had been cut and fallen into the toilet commode of Vande Bharat Express while the train was at Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna Station in Bengaluru and proceeding towards Mysuru.

The passenger was identified as Gayathri, wife of K. Ganesraman, a resident of Kaveri Layout, Marathahalli, Bengaluru. The mangalsutra weighed around 16 grams and was valued at about Rs. 2 lakh.

On the train’s arrival at Mysuru, Sub-Inspector S.P. Harish of RPF Mysuru, along with Constable Kanhaya Singh and mechanical staff, conducted a search and secured the fallen ornament, consisting of four pieces. On Feb. 9, the ornament was handed over to the couple after due verification. The passenger appreciated the efforts of the RPF Mysuru team.
