Mysuru: In a concerted effort to foster youth participation in urban governance, the Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology (VVIET), in collaboration with Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung (HSF) and Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement (GRAAM), has organised a special Governance Talk titled ‘Urban Governance in Action: Pathways for Youth Engagement for a Cleaner, Smarter Mysuru’ on June 10 at 11 am at Lalitha Smaraka Bhavana, VVIET Campus, Bannur Road, Mysuru.

The session will be presided over by Ritesh Gowda, Chairman, Vidya Vikas Educational Trust, with Kaveesh Gowda, Secretary of the Trust, delivering the opening remarks.

A key highlight of the event is a special address and youth interaction session with Shaikh Tanveer Asif, Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). Dr. Basavaraju R. Shreshta, Executive Director, GRAAM, will be the guest of honour, sharing insights on grassroots governance models and the role of youth in participatory governance.

This initiative is part of the broader Governance Talk Series, aimed at strengthening democratic participation and civic consciousness among the youth. It highlights the pivotal role of educational institutions and civil society in shaping the next generation of informed, responsible urban citizens.

The event is organised under the leadership of Dr. Karibasappa Kwadiki, Principal, VVIET, with the active support of faculty and staff, as part of the Youth for Governance Fellowship Programme by GRAAM in association with Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung.
