Government Medical Officers Association celebrates International Women’s Day

Women and Child Development Department Director Dr. B.S. Pushpalatha launched an awareness rally organised as part of International Women’s Day celebrations by Karnataka State Government Medical Officers Association in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple premises on Friday.

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka State Government Medical Officers Association celebrated International Women’s Day at a programme organised in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple premises on Friday.

Women and Child Development Department Director Dr. B.S. Pushpalatha launched an awareness rally organised as part of the celebrations.

The rally passed through Hardinge Circle, B.N. Road and culminated at the District Health and Family Welfare Department Office in Nazarbad.

Speaking at the stage programme held at Vaidyara Bhavan in the Department Office premises, Dr. Pushpalatha said that women should excel in all fields.

Observing that women are no more restricted to homes and are making a mark for themselves in all sectors, she said that women should play a vital role in building an equal society.

She further said that all the staff of the Department should make it a point to compulsorily vote in the LS polls.

The staff took a pledge on mandatory voting, on the occasion. Health and Family Welfare Deputy Director Dr. Vasanth Kumar, Divisional Joint Director Dr. Mallika, District Hospital Surgeon Dr. T. Amarnath, DHO Dr. P.C. Kumaraswamy, Dr. C.M. Jagadish and others were present.
