Mysuru: Maintaining that the foundation training for new recruits joining Government service will provide them an opportunity for understanding all aspects of Government Service, Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Director- General Kapil Mohan has said that Government service open up ample opportunities for serving the people.
He was interacting with the probationers of the 176th and 177th batch who underwent training at the ATI here recently.
Observing that Government service gives a different experience, he called upon the probationers to imbibe human values and to respond to social issues.
Pointing out that Government service will change one’s personality, way of thinking as well as their lifestyle, Kapil Mohan said that ATI will impart training to officials from all departments.
Noting that with general elections round the corner, the officials will be entrusted with poll duties, he said that the recruits must understand that they are Government servants first and department officials next.
Continuing, the ATI Director-General said that Government servants apart from getting all facilities will also get an opportunity for higher studies.
Stressing on the need for optimum utilisation of Technology in all departments, he said that officials must make good use of the facilities and opportunities that they get to serve the people better.
Stating that the public will be observing functioning of Government officials, he emphasised on the need for maintaining transparency in administration.
Highlighting the do’s and dont’s in Government service, he said that the foundation training also educates the probationers on Government service rules and the consequences of any misconduct. Underlining the importance of maintaining discipline while in Government service, he said that Government servants must be committed to their service and not give much importance to postings.
He also called upon the probationers to make best use of what all they had learnt at the foundation training, throughout their service and earn appreciation from the public. ATI Joint Director V. Bhagyalakshmi, co-ordinators Dr. Harish, Dr. Christina Kantharaju, Pallavi Honnapura and others were present.
