Decision after consulting officers concerned
Bengaluru: The State Government is seriously considering vaccinating students above 18 years, teaching and non-teaching staff in the respective colleges during next month as per guidelines of the Union Government after consulting officers concerned, said Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan.
He said the above groups will be considered as a priority group for vaccination which will take place next month.
Dr. Ashwathnarayan, who is also Chairman of the COVID-19 Ministerial Task Force Committee said, the vaccination campaign will be arranged in the colleges. Validation letters issued by the respective institutions need to be submitted before getting vaccinated. Head of the institution and another officer will be appointed as Nodal Officers in every institution, he said.
Offline classes after vaccination
He said offline classes will be started once all the students were vaccinated the first dose. Teaching-learning process has not stopped and it is being continued through digital mode and attendance was must for online classes also.
The Government was cautious about occurrence of Delta Plus cases and the existing vaccines were effective against this variant of the virus also, he added.
