Bengaluru: With the Zilla Panchayat (ZP) and Taluk Panchayat (TP)  polls long overdue, the State Government has come forward to formulate reservation matrix based on Bhaktavatsala and Kantharaj Backward Classes Commission Reports.

The decision to declare the reservation matrix based on Bhaktavatsala and Kantharaj Commission Reports was taken at a dinner meeting hosted by Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar for State Ministers at the residence of his younger brother and Bengaluru Rural MP and LS polls candidate D.K. Suresh in Bengaluru on Wednesday night. The leaders are said to have mulled on getting ready for the ZP and TP polls once the LS poll results are out.

The dinner meeting also discussed many issues such as holding of elections for BBMP and other local bodies, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna’s sleaze video and pen drive case, Congress party organisational issues, the party’s chances in the just concluded LS polls  etc.

The meeting even decided       that the appointments to Boards and Corporations be completed after the LS polls. Apprehensive that the Centre may make the pen drive case a spot of bother for the ruling Congress in the State, Deputy CM Shivakumar stressed on the need for being cautious about the Centre’s moves in this regard.
