Govt. to pay pending wages of Pandavapura Factory workers

Pandavapura: Minister Shivaram Hebbar later visited PSSK (Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Karkhane) at Pandavapura, which was recently taken on a 40-year lease by Bagalkot District-based Nirani Sugars, owned by Bilgi BJP MLA and former Minister Murugesh Nirani.

Speaking to press persons after an inspection of the Factory and holding talks with the officials, Hebbar, replying to a query, said that the Government will soon take steps for clearing wage dues of the Factory workers.

Assuring that the Factory workers will be retained and not retrenched after takeover by Nirani Sugars, the Minister said that measures will also be taken for clearing dues to farmers.

Asserting that the properties of the Factory will be secured, Hebbar said that it is up to the successful bidder (Nirani Sugars) to set up a manufacturing facility for production of by-products.

MLA and former Minister C.S. Puttaraju, former PSSK Chairman K.S. Nanjundegowda, DC Dr. M.V. Venkatesh and others were present.
