Bengaluru: IT, BT, Skill Development and Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan on Friday said that unemployed youths will be trained under Government skill development programme to provide them jobs in the State.
Speaking at a mega job fair in city, he said there was no shortage of jobs in Bengaluru and other parts of the State and asked the unemployed youths to come forward to join the skill development training as there were ample job opportunities.
The purpose of the Government is to provide manpower to meet the demand of industries in the State. Regardless of the number of job-seekers, the job will be provided with appropriate training, language knowledge and skills. He said the question of employment would not come unless he had mastered the skills.
He also said for those who are interested in working abroad same facility is also available in the Skill Development Department. The Government has set up an International Immigration Centre to provide employment to the State’s skilled youths in foreign countries.
The Minister said many are already getting jobs and working in different countries. There are over 2,000 jobs available at this job fair.
But only 1,300 have registered. 30 companies are selecting candidates directly, physically. Another 12 companies are recruiting online. A total of 42 companies are involved in the fair, he said.
