Mysore/Mysuru: Ending the suspense, the Election Commission of India today announced the schedule for biennial election to Karnataka Legislative Council from two Graduates’ and two Teachers’ Constituencies, according to which polls will be held on June 13.
Polls to four seats — Karnataka South Graduates, Karnataka North-West Teachers, Karnataka North-West Graduates and Karnataka West Teachers — is being held as the tenure of sitting members will end on July 4.
Members representing these seats Basavaraj Horatti, K.T. Srikantegowda, Hanumanth Nirani and Arun Shahapur will retire on July 4. Polling to four Council seats will take place on June 13. Counting of votes will be taken up on June 15 and the results will be announced the same day.
