Grand Western Classical Music Concert at Ganabharathi

Mysore/Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Grand Western Classical Music Concert in memory of Vid. Swaramurthy V.N. Rao at its premises on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here on Dec. 26 at 6 pm.

Vid. Arokya Swamy will present a saxophone recital accompanied by Arogyaraj on keyboard, Balasubramanyam & Amogh on piano, Vincent on drums and Anand on clarinet.

Profile: Having served in the field of music for over fifty years, Arokya Swamy is an accomplished saxophone player and a highly respected band master and music composer. Over the years, he has worked across various domains of music as a programme manager and organiser. His vast experience includes active participation in the English Police Band, Mysore Police Band and Torch Light Parade during Dasara celebrations.

Representing Mysuru, he has also performed with an English Band at the Republic Day celebrations in Delhi, bringing honour to the city. Even after retirement, Swamy’s commitment to music remains unwavering. He has founded his own institution, The Harry School of Music, through which he continues to nurture and promote musical talent.
