Puttannaiah Junior ready to enter politics, hints at joining Swaraj India party
Mysuru: Melukote MLA and former leader K.S. Puttannaiah will be paid ‘Green Tribute’ (Hasiru Namana) at a programme to take place at Pandava stadium in Pandavapura town of Mandya district at 12 noon tomorrow (Mar.8).
Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, KRRS leader Badagalapura Nagendra said that prior to the start of the programme, a huge procession, in which thousands of farmers will take part will be taken out from Five Lights Circle of the town to the stadium at 11am.
Chief Minister Siddharamaiah and a host of Ministers and political leaders are expected to take part in the programme.
Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji, Chitradurga Murugharajendra Mutt Seer Shivamurthy Swamiji and other Seers will grace the occasion, Nagendra said.
Also, as part of International Women’s Day, women achievers from different fields will be feted on the occasion, he added.
KRRS office-bearers M.S. Ashwath Narayan Raje Urs, Hosakote Basavarju and others were present at the press meet.
Meanwhile, the late MLA’s son Darshan Puttannaiah has said that he would announce his decision on entering politics only after consulting the voters.
Scotching rumours of him joining the Congress, Darshan said he would contest only from Swaraj India party, if he takes a plunge into politics. Maintaining that no party had extended an invitation to him so far, Darshan said that he will continue to strive for the cause of farmers, which his father had taken up.
