Mysore/Mysuru: GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, has been identified as one among the Super 30 Model Engineering Colleges to be upgraded to International Standards. GSSSIETW has been established with a vision for women empowerment. The College has contributed yeomen services to the society and maintained international quality standards in imparting technical education. With the motto “Commitment to Value Based Education,” the institution has been accredited with NBA and NAAC.
The Karnataka State’s Super 30 Programme’s vision is to provide world class, quality technical, multidisciplinary education by strengthening academic, infrastructure and human resources in partnership with industry to foster innovations at grassroots that can solve societal challenges in each district in the State.
The Regional Ecosystem for Technical Excellence (RETE) under the leadership of eminent personalities Prashanth Prakash, Chairman – Vision Group on Startups, Government of Karnataka, has identified GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, as an Engineering College in Mysuru district to be upgraded to global standards in the next five years under Super 30 programme. This is the effort of Karnataka State to create a world class technical education institution in every district with potential for expansion facilities and with industry connect.
This scheme will support the College with financial aid from VTU and corporate for upgrading existing infrastructure, higher education support with industry oriented skills. This also will enable the institution to improve the NIRF and QS / THE Global Ranking, research, entrepreneurship, placements and internationalisation.
A 3 layer structure of Incubatee, Accelerate and Super 30 has been followed. This scheme which is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP -2020) will help the students of GSSSIETW to enhance practical knowledge and skills leading to employment.
