Mysore/Mysuru: The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, has been awarded 4 stars in the ratings for 2019-2020 released by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI).
IIC is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and was established in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
It aims to promote and advance innovative practices among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The MoE has established the “MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)” to systematically foster the culture of innovation amongst all HEIs.
The 4 golden stars rating has been awarded to GSSSIETW for undertaking various initiatives and activities prescribed by the Innovation Cell.
Since its inception, the Institution is carrying out various activities aimed at promoting innovation, start-ups, and entrepreneurship by involving both the faculty and the students.
GSSSIETW had to effectively follow the MIC prescribed calendar of activities. In addition, it was also required to take part in a series of MIC-driven initiatives, which revolved around the promotion and development of entrepreneurship.
The final factor which was to be satisfied for this rating was in regard to the institutions’ self-driven initiatives, where GSSSIETW had an edge over ensuring the active engagement of its students and faculties in innovation-centered initiatives, according to a press release.
