Mysuru: Minister for Higher Education G.T. Devegowda (GTD) inaugurated the co-curricular activities of Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, Mysuru, to coincide with the institution’s 40th anniversary celebrations in the College auditorium on July 21.
Addressing the students, he recalled the College Founder K. Puttaswamy and his vision in the field of education. Expressing confidence that he can responsibly handle the Ministry, GTD laid emphasis on skill development which is very important in the competitive world.
Chief guest and MLC Marithibbe Gowda, who also spoke, lauded the vision of Sahukar Chennaiah, K.Puttaswamy and P.M.Chikkaboraiah in the growth of Vidyavardhaka Group of Educational Institutions.
Gundappa Gowda, Hon. President, V.V.Sangha, presided. Dr. S. Mari Gowda, Principal of VVFGC, delivered the keynote address. P. Vishwanath, Hon.Secretary, V.V.Sangha and T.Nagaraju, Chairman, CMC, VVFGC, were the guests of honour.
Governing Council Members, Teaching and Non Teaching Staff and students were present.
Prof. Manju, Staff Advisor and Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, rendered the invocation. Dhananjaya Palahalli, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, compered. Prof. H.J. Chandrashekar, Associate Professor, proposed a vote of thanks.
