Mysuru: The Department of MBA, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Post-Graduate Centre in city had recently organised a guest lecture on “e-Marketing in India”. Ajay Kamath, Group Delivery Manager, Theorem India, who was the resource person shared his knowledge.
During his interaction, Kamath made the students understand that e-Marketing is the process of marketing a brand using Internet.
It includes both direct response marketing and indirect marketing elements and uses a range of technologies to help connect businesses to their customers and using digital technologies to help sell goods or services. These technologies add to traditional marketing methods but the basics of marketing remain the same – creating a strategy to deliver the right messages to the right people, he said.
Prof. Renuka Murthy, Chairperson of MBA Department spoke about barriers and implementation of e- marketing and challenges like bad reputation, marketing integration, privacy, new layer of e-mail etc.
