Mysuru: Nrityagiri Academy of Performing Arts and Research Centre, Mysuru, will present “Guru – Shishya Nrithyollasa,” an evening of Bharathanatyam on July 6 at 6.30 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar. Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke of Nrityagiri and Vidushi Ashwini Manjunath, her disciple, will perform.
Musical ensemble: Nattuvanga -Vidu. Sanjana Gogate Patawardhan; Vocal – Vid. Naveen M.S. Andagar; Mridanga – Vid. H. L. Shivashankara Swamy and Flute – Vid. Deepak Hebbar.
Profile: Vidushi Ashwini Manjunath has been learning Bharathanatyam from past 20 years. Having acquired proficiency in Bharathanatyam with enviable distinction, Ashwini gracefully completed her Arrangetrum under the able guidance of Guru Dr. Kripa Phadke.
Ashwini has established her own Dance Academy ‘Nrityaloka’ Centre of Performing Arts in Richmond, Virginia. An engineering graduate from SJCE, Mysuru, she is the daughter of T.N. Shashidhar and Umadevi and a mother of two kids. She owes her gratitude to her husband Manjunath Reddy and brother Anoop Shashidhar for supporting her.
