Mysuru: Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy inspected the Fire Brigade building in Saraswathipuram here this morning. Two days ago, the portico of the building collapsed owing to rain.
The former CM was on his way to Kodagu and Hassan to inspect the rain affected places.
Speaking to press persons, Kumaraswamy contended that the rain fury has been terrible this time almost every where. He said that he visited Belagavi yesterday and would visit HD Kote, Hunsur and Nanjangud next week.
He further said that in the context of the Cabinet yet to be formed, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa should take the officers into confidence and get going with relief works. He asserted that there is no dearth of funds in the State and assured all help from the Opposition for relief works. He agreed that there is a big challenge ahead for Yediyurappa and contended that it is not the time to pass any criticism.
Former Ministers S.R. Mahesh, Bandeppa Kashyampur, former Mayor M. J. Ravikumar, Corporator SBM Manju, DCP Muthuraj, Regional Fire Officer G. Eshwar Nayak, District Fire Officer H. Raju and others were present.
