Bengaluru: Even as the recent outbursts of senior Congress legislators and former Ministers Ramalinga Reddy and Roshan Baig has rattled the State Congress, another veteran party leader H.K. Patil has urged the party high command to immediately convene a meeting of senior congress leaders to resolve issues haunting the party.
Speaking to press persons here yesterday, Patil said that it was imperative for the party high command to talk to senior leaders as internal dissensions had hit the party hard, with the party getting a drubbing in the just concluded LS polls.
Referring to verbal attacks by some Congress leaders against CLP leader Siddharamaiah, H.K. Patil, an MLA from Gadag and a former Minister said that AICC President Rahul Gandhi should take this issue seriously and draw up plans for strengthening the party. He also said that he has written a letter to Minister K.J. George reminding him on the outstanding dues that is to be paid by JSW Company (Jindal Company) to the State Government.
The senior Congress leader had objected to the State Government’s decision to sell 3,666 acres of land in Ballari district to the company for mining purposes.
