The Department of Handloom and Textiles has invited applications from rural women who have undergone sewing machine operator training to provide 50 percent subsidy to purchase sewing machines under its ‘Nidhi’ self-employment scheme. Women candidates should have received training at any of the departmental/private sewing machine operator training centres in Mysuru district. A total of 46 women including 35 women from general category, 8 from Scheduled Caste and 3 from Scheduled Tribe can avail subsidy from Mysuru district. Each sewing machine of Rs. 30,000 will get 50 percent subsidy from the Government and beneficiaries belonging to SC/ST community will be given Rs. 15,000.
