Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court recently pulled up the State Government for not submitting the reservation list to the State Election Commission (SEC) despite the undertaking given in the last hearing.
The Court adjourned the hearing and granted time to the State to issue the reservation list before July 31 following the assurance by Advocate General Uday Holla.
The State Election Commission had moved the Court seeking directions to the State to issue final notification of delimitation of Wards to 18 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and notification of reservation of seats of all Wards of 215 ULBs.
Orally observing that this was a serious matter and the Government should not delay in issuing the list and the delay on the part of the Government is a violation of the Court’s directions, the Court adjourned the hearing to July 31.
