Mysore/Mysuru: Lokayukta sleuths have caught a First Division Assistant (FDA) of the Health and Family Welfare Department while he was receiving a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a food caterer to release the bill amount.
Shivanaga, Proprietor of Vinayaka Catering, had supplied food amounting to Rs. 5,16,000 to the trainees of Health and Family Welfare Department Training Centre at Metagalli and Mahesh, the FDA, had demanded Rs. 80,000 bribe to get the bill released, following which Shivanaga had lodged a complaint with Lokayukta Police.
On Apr. 2, when Shivanaga was paying the bribe amount of Rs. 50,000, Lokayukta Police, who raided the place caught FDA Mahesh red-handed while receiving the bribe.
Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) V.J. Sajith and Dy.SP Krishnaiah guided Lokayukta Inspectors Jayarathna and Umesh and staff Lokesh, Ramesh, H.N. Gopi, Prakash, Mohan Gowda, Veena and Asha in the operation.
