Mysuru: Even as the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is working towards making the city plastic-free, a heap of empty plastic bottles that fell from a moving Goods auto near the RMC Market junction on New Sayyaji Rao Road posed a lot of inconvenience to motorists travelling on the road here recently.
Eye witnesses said that the plastic bottles fell off from the auto at about 7 pm and the driver sped away without noticing it. As a large number of bottles littered the road right in the middle, the matter was informed to MCC Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj, who then rushed to the spot along with a few staff and cleared the litter.
Meanwhile, the MCC authorities have also urged citizens to be more responsible at a time when Swachh Survekshan survey is being carried out in the city by the Central authorities and any negligence on the part of the citizens may hurt the city’s prospects for the ‘Cleanest City’ tag.
