Sir,
The entire stretch of footpath on either side of Vidyaranyapuram Main Road, from Bhoothal Pitch to St. Thomas School, is heavily encroached upon by vendors, shopkeepers, chaat sellers and construction materials, among other obstructions. It is concerning that our MLA, T.S. Srivatsa, seems unaware of this situation.
The residential areas of Vidyaranyapuram are among the most neglected in Mysuru. Garbage is scattered at numerous locations, unchecked construction activities are rampant and stormwater drains are frequently clogged. Additionally, the proliferation of footpath vendors and their customers often leads to the disposal of leftover food along the footpaths or in nearby parks, attracting stray animals.
Of particular concern is the presence of a welding shop at the beginning of 19th Cross. The residents of the building housing the welding shop have extended their encroachment onto the footpath by using it to dry clothes and even setting up a permanent kennel for their stray pet. Despite previous complaints, no action has been taken to address this issue.
I urge the MLA to genuinely engage with the concerns of the voters and take necessary action to address these long-standing issues.
