‘Hejje-Gejje’ cultural extravaganza of Nimishamba School of Dance on Feb.3, 4

 The team to perform at ‘Hejje Gejje’ Cultural Fest.

Mysuru: ‘Hejje-Gejje,’ the annual cultural extravaganza of Sri Nimishamba Dance Promoters will be held at Jaganmohan Palace on  Feb. 3 and 4.

As part of the two-day programme, a State-level Dance Competition will be held on Saturday (Feb.3) from 9 am to 9 pm. Solo, duet and group dances will be performed and the winners will be given shields and certificates. Also, the best teams will perform the next evening at the Cultural Fest.

On Sunday (Feb.4), the 21st dance fiesta will begin at 5 pm. Cine director Sudhakar Sajja, ‘Gommatavani’ newspaper (Shravanabelagola) Editor S.N. Ashok Kumar, retired Principal of St. Philomena’s and humorist Prof. M. Krishnegowda, theatre and film actor Arun Sagar and Kannada and Culture Asst. Director H. Chennappa will be the chief guests.

A dance feature titled ‘Bharata-Bahubali’ will be presented on the occasion as a commemoration of Mahamastakabhisheka  to be held in Shravanabelagola this month. Nimishamba Dance School’s Vid. Shridhar Jain of ‘Apthamitra’ fame will don Bahubali’s role and Bengaluru’s Vid. Suryanarayana Rao (son-in-law of actress Vinaya Prasad) of ‘Aptharakshaka’ fame will play the role of Bharata.
