Mysuru/Mysore: In a bid to prevent spread of Coronavirus and to educate people about the precautions to be taken, the South Western Railways (SWR) has opened Special Medical Help Desks at all important Railway Stations including Mysuru Railway Station.
Apart from Mysuru Railway Station, similar Help Desks are opened at Railway Stations in Bengaluru, Hubballi, Vijapura, Belagavi, Gadag, Ballari, Hosapet, Alnawar, Bagalkot and Vasco da Gama.
The Railway staff is being provided training and the Help Desks will be opened for two-three days in a week.
More than 600 posters with messages on prevention of Coronavirus in Kannada and English have been pasted at all important Railway Stations and handbills are being distributed to passengers. Audio and video instructions are being announced on loud speakers and screened on LED screens.
To treat passengers with suspected Coronavirus symptoms, a 10-bed Ward has been opened at the Railway Hospital.
