T. Narasipur: Help is pouring in for 45-year-old Anand who pedalled 280-km to fetch medicines for his son from NIMHANS, Bengaluru, due to Statewide lockdown last week.
After newspapers broke this story, Sunil Bose, former Chairman of the Vigilance Committee which oversees the implementation of various housing schemes in T. Narasipur Constituency, visited Anand’s house in Ganiganakoppal village of the taluk and appreciated him for the act of bravery. Bose gave Rs. 10,000 to Anand and promised to look after the education of his ill son Bhyresh.
R. Cheluvaraj, Director, MyMUL, N. Somu, President, Town Municipal Council and Munawar Pasha, former President, were present.
Later, a group of Youth Congress, led by Mohsin Khan, former President, Youth Congress, also met Anand and lent their helping hands. They provided groceries and assured to always stand by him.
Tahsildar Nagesh, who too met Anand, promised to take care of the medical expenses of his son.
