Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Bharatiya Samskrutika Vikasa Vedike, in association with various associations and organisations, has organised Heritage Walking Race on July 24.
Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city yesterday, Vedike Patron C. Jagadeesh said that men and women in the age group of 30-60 years may take part in the competition which will be held only in one category.
Women should wear saree and men should wear lungi-shirt to take part in the competition.
First, second and third place winners will be awarded with prizes worth Rs. 3,000, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,000 respectively. Registration is free but compulsory. Those interested to take part in the competition may contact Mob: 94485-76337 or 99017-08996, he added.
The stage programme will be held at Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Circle at 8.30 am.
Hosmutt Seer Sri Chidananda Swamiji will grace the occasion. Former MP C.H. Vijayashankar will inaugurate the programme.
Social worker K. Raghuram Vajpayee, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mysuru President Maddikere Gopal and others will be present.
Vedike Founder-President Tagadur Gowrishankar, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Gold Secretary Prema Ravi and others were present at the press meet.
