Hero Indian Super League 2020-21: Sunday matches end with draw

Aitor Monroy (Jamshedpur) and Diego Mauricio (Odisha) in a duel.

Jamshedpur FC and Odisha FC picked up their first points in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 after a 2-2 draw at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco da Gama here on Sunday.

Nerijus Valskis scored twice in the first half to give Jamshedpur a 2-0 lead. The second half was filled with plenty of drama as Jamshedpur shot-stopper T.P. Rehenesh was sent off for a hand-ball that denied a goal-scoring opportunity. Substitute Diego Mauricio scored for Odisha in the 77th minute after the red card and then netted the equaliser in injury time.

Albino Gomes (Kerala Blasters) saves Chennaiyin FC’s penalty.

In second game of the day yesterday, Chennaiyin FC were unable to break down a staunch Kerala Blasters side, who held their ground to earn a point in a goalless draw at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim. The Marina Machans came closest to taking the lead but striker Jakub Sylvestr’s penalty was saved by Albino Gomes in a match that saw limited opportunities for both sides.
