In spite of the second wave of the pandemic, more than 85 percent of all eligible students (outgoing batch of 2020-21) have been placed this year, said Dr.Bansilal, Principal NIE Institute of Technology (NIEIT), Hootagalli Industrial Area, Koorgalli village, Mysuru. “All this is because of the extra efforts put in by the faculty and the Placement and Training Cell,” he added.
“Additional training was imparted for students in terms of aptitude, verbal, group discussion and also technical skills. Special lectures by alumni were arranged and also sessions on mock interviews & how to write resumes. While 84 companies provided placement opportunities last year, 105 companies provided placement opportunities this year, indicating the high acceptability of our Institute graduates among companies, especially in today’s competitive world,” he said.
Placement pooling was also arranged with autonomous Institute NIE. All these efforts helped the students to improve the placements this year. Top notch companies visited the campus. The Institute is also involved in internship arrangement for students and stands at the 663 rank at all India level and at 250 rank at the south zone level as per INTERNSHALA — an AICTE recognised agency. Free coaching was provided to take up GATE exam as part of career counselling, he added.
