Hindustani Classical Music

Mysore/Mysuru: Gayana Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a Hindustani Classical Music Concert at Kalpa Kshetra Auditorium, 581/1, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 1st Phase, on Nov. 14 at 6 pm.

Vidu. Paulami Pethe Deshmukh from Pune will present vocal recital. She will be accompanied by Pt. Veerabhadraiah Hiremath on harmonium and Ramesh Dhannur on tabla.

Paulami Deshmukh is a disciple of Padma Bhushan Dr Prabha Atre and presently is learning from Vidushi Shalmali Joshi, and Pt. Satyasheel Deshpande. She is trained in semi-classical and light music by ghazal singers Jasvinder Singh and Shri. Suhas Bawadekar (Disciple of Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki).Some of the solo performances of Paulami include: Nadabramha Sangeetha Sabha (2004); Rang Gandharva (Natya Sangeet) – ‘Rang ShardaPratishthan’, Mumbai (2004); Invited for an entertainment programme on Sahyadri TV for Navaratna Puraskar by Govt. of Maharashtra (2004), Sur Hindol, Dubai and many more.

Paulami has founded an Institute named ‘Alhaiyya – Anandyatra Swaranch’ in Pune to promote classical  music and to encourage young and talented musicians. She has also won many scholarships and awards.  She is also a playback singer for marathi and hindi films.
