Hindustani classical music concert on Feb. 8

Mysore/Mysuru: Gayana Sabha, Mysuru, has organised a Hindustani Classical Music concert by Reshma Bhat of Kumta, on  Feb. 8 at Ganabharathi auditorium, Mysuru  at 6 pm.

She will be accompanied by Sathish Bhat Heggar on harmonium and Akshay Bhat Amsalli on tabla.

Profile: Reshma Bhat is a disciple of Dr. Ashok Huggannavar, a renowned Hindustani vocalist. She was a scholar at ITC Sangeeth Research Academy, Kolkata, under the guidance of Vidushi Shubhra Guha.

Reshma is an ‘A’ grade artiste in Hindustani Classical and Light Music and performs regularly on All India Radio. A graduate in Computer Science and M.Tech in Geoinformatics from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, Reshma has won many awards in recognition of her talent — ‘Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtriya Yuva Puraskar’ from Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtriya Smaraka Trust, Dharwad (2015); ‘Gana Jyothi Puraskar’ from Sangeetha   Bharati Foundation, Mangaluru and many more.

Reshma has performed extensively in India and abroad. She has released many albums of Bhavageethe and devotional music — Madhugange, Araluva Hoogalu, Shravana Mangalam, Vani Vinayaka — to name a few.
