Hindustani flute recital on June 16

Mysore/Mysuru: Bamboo Melody Raagas will present  Venu Gaana — Riyaaz Shaala (Workshop) and Hindustani Flute recital on June 16 at  Kalpa Kshetra, 581/1, 4th Stage, 1st Phase, Vijayanagar 3rd Stage in city.

The Workshop will be held at 10 am and Hindustani Flute recital will be presented by Harshit Shankar at 6 pm. He will be accompanied Taalanjay Thakur on tabla.

 Profile

Harshit Shankar was  born on Feb.17, 2004 in Patna, Bihar. Currently, he is staying in Mumbai. He inherited the art of flute playing from his father  Anil Kumar (Shankar), who  is a disciple of  Pt. Rajendra Prasanna, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and Ustad Dr. Mujtaba Hussain. He is also a graded artiste in AIR.

 Harshit Shankar is receiving his training from flute maestro Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia  and Pt. Rakesh Chaurasia. He is also learning from his Dada Guru Pt. Rajendra Prasanna.  Harshit  has won many awards like Baal Shree National Award, Title of Young Artiste 2020,   Natu Babu Scholarship from  Sangeet Piyasi (ITC) Kolkata among others.

Harshit has also played flute for many Bollywood films like Samosa & Sons, London Missal, Jai Shree Krishna and TV serials like Radha Krishna, Bindiya Sarkar. He has even performed in AIR and Doordarshan concerts.
