Mysuru: Swarasankula Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, in association with Gaanavisharada Bidaram Krishnappa Sri Prasanna Seetharama Mandira Trust, has organised Hindustani Sitar recital by Ustad Hafiz Bale Khan tomorrow (Oct. 7) at Gaanvisharada Bidaram Krishnappa Sri Prasanna Seetharam Mandira on Narayana Shastri Road at 6 pm. Utsad Hafeez will be accompanied by Pt. Shailesh Shenoy on tabla.
About the artiste: Born to sitar maestro Ustad Bale Khan during 1980, Ustad Hafiz Bale Khan learnt sitar from his father and also from Prof. Ustad A. Karim Khan, grandfather.
After completing his Post-Graduation in Music from Karnatak University, Hafiz taught in the Music and Fine Arts College of the same University for three years and later at Kalkeri School of Music for five years. He has also worked as a sitar teacher at Sarala Birla International Academy, Bengaluru.
Ustad Hafiz has performed at various stages not only in Karnataka but also in Mumbai, Miraj, New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram. An ‘A’ grade artiste in both Akashavani and Doordarshan, he has composed music for many vachanas.
