Historic outing for UoM Women’s Cricket Team

Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) Women’s Cricket Team created history by emerging runner-up at the All India Inter- University Women’s Cricket Tournament organised by University of Calicut in Calicut from Mar. 26 to Apr. 1.

In the finals, UoM lost to hosts University of Calicut. This was the first time in the tournament’s history that a University women’s cricket team had entered the finals of All India Inter-University Women’s Cricket Tournament. Team’s captain G. Vidya was declared ‘Best Bowler of the Tournament’ for scalping a total of 12 wickets in 6 matches and Shishira Gowda was declared the ‘Best Batter of the Tournament’ for scoring a total of 217 runs in 6 matches.
