Mysuru: A 30-year-old woman was killed while her mother sustained serious injuries when a goods vehicle hit the moped they were riding and sped away near Dasappa Circle in the early hours about three to four days ago.
While the deceased is Mahadevi, her seriously injured mother is Mangalamma, residents of Manjunathapura in city.
Mahadevi and Mangalamma, who used to sell greens, left on their TVS moped (KA-09-JK-3278) to the market near the Gun House at about 3 am. After purchasing the greens, they were proceeding near Dasappa Circle at about 4.30 am, when a goods vehicle hit the moped and sped away resulting in the woman and her daughter falling on the road and sustaining serious injuries.
Though the public rushed them to K.R. Hospital, Mahadevi is said to have breathed her last midway. Mangalamma is undergoing treatment at the Hospital. Mahadevi leaves behind her two daughters.
Devaraja Traffic Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
