Mysuru: The District Committee of Bharat Seva Dal had organised an informative camp on National Flag and National Anthem at the Seva Dal District Office in Gangothri Layout here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, former Commandant of Bharat Seva Dal H.S. Kashinakunti said that the specified code and norms should be strictly followed while hoisting the National Flag. He further said that educational institutions and Associations should hoist the National Flag on Independence Day strictly adhering to norms specified, so also while bringing down the Flag.
He said that the Tri-colour rangoli should not be drawn on either the foundation slab of the flag pole or on the ground. He pointed out that the code does not permit offering puja to portraits of Gandhiji and other leaders so also paeans in appreciation of Bharat Matha or the leaders. He said that in the enthusiasm of patriotism, the specified norms and code of hoisting the Flag should not be violated.
Seva Dal District Committee member D.R. Seshachala delivered a special lecture on the evolution of the National Flag.
Seva Dal former State President D. Madegowda, BEO (South) Shivakumar, Seva Dal District President N. Narasimhaswamy, Treasurer K.M. Basavegowda, Planning Officer K.S. Ravishankar and others were present.
