‘Hosa Belaku,’ a book of poems released

Mysore/Mysuru N.V. Ramesh, Founder of Abhiruchi Balaga,  released a book of poems titled ‘Hosa Belaku’ authored by senior poetess N. Shantakumari at a function organised by District Kannada Sahitya Parishat at Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhavan in Vijayanagar here recently.

Speaking about the book,  Ramesh lauded the efforts of Shantakumari in writing a book of poems. “This collection of poems, based on the incidents of her family and daily life is very special as every poem has come out of personal experience of the writer. The intensity of emotions expressed through words of the poetess really haunt the readers,” opined Ramesh and said that the author’s husband Prof. Nagaraj too has cooperated while writing the book.

Emphasising the need to encourage new and upcoming writers,  Ramesh said that there are many things one can learn through the books written by these writers. Government should also identify and encourage new talents,” he added.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, who also spoke, said that stories and poems can alter the course of life and they can also give inspiration and strength. Shantakumari has written poems of such a quality. “Though the book looks small, its contents are of good quality,” he added.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat District Vice-President N. Ananta, Joint Secretary Kempanna, Taluk President S. Manjunath, Hagalu Yogakshema Senior Citizens Centre President Prabhuswamy, Dr. Nagaraj, Puttaswamy, Chandrakala and others were present.
