Mysuru: Demanding immediate release of pending wages, over a hundred hostel workers, under the banner of AIUTUC-affiliated Karnataka State Samyukta Hostel Workers Association, staged a demonstration in front of Social Welfare Department office near Paduvarahalli here yesterday.
Claiming that they have not been paid salaries for the past six months, the hostel workers alleged that several representations made to the authorities in this regard have fallen on deaf ears.
The protesters also urged the authorities to provide details of EPF remittances, issuance of ESI cards and other statutory benefits.
Association office-bearers Ravi, Mahadevaiah, Lokesh, Vijaya, Shobha and others led the protest.
