Mysore/Mysuru: Following several complaints from the public about encroachments on Raja Kaluve, which was causing problems to the smooth flow of rainwater resulting in flooding during rains, Mysuru Taluk Tahsildar P.S. Rakshit, with the help of Metagalli Police cleared the encroachments this morning.
Armed with an earth moving machine, the Tahsildar got the building that was built on the Raja Kaluve behind Adi Shakti Temple in Kumbarakoppal coming under Metagalli Survey No. 143 demolished and also demolished the compound walls of a few houses that had encroached the Raja Kaluve.
Tahsildar Rakshit warned that any encroachments on Raja Kaluve or on Government land in Mysuru city or taluk would be demolished and the land would be reclaimed.
Metagalli Inspector Raghavendra Gowda and staff provided security during the drive. Revenue Inspector Prashanth, MCC Development Officer Veeresh, MUDA Assistant Executive Engineer Manu and other officials took part in the encroachment clearance drive.
