Rs. 2.82 lakh worth gold ornaments recovered
Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested a house burglar who was trying to sell two gold bangles near a pawn broker shop on Ashoka Road here on June 9 and have recovered 90 grams gold ornaments worth about Rs.2.82 lakh from him.
The arrested is 38-year-old Gowrishankar of Gandasi village, Arasikere taluk in Hassan district.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of committing a house burglary in Mandi Police limits during 2018 Jumboo Savari day in Mandi Police limits and based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered gold ornaments weighing about 90 grams and worth about Rs.2.82 lakh from him.
N.R. Sub-Division ACP Dharanesh supervised Mandi Police L. Arun, ASI K.S. Guruswamy and staff Jayapala, S. Jayakumar, M. Eliyas, Chandrashekar, Ravigowda, Shankar T. Bandivaddar and Hanumantha Kalled in the nabbing and seizing operation, according to a press release from the Public Relations Officer (PRO), City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
