113 grams gold ornaments worth about Rs. 3 lakh seized

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police on July 5 took a man who was standing in front of Jai Jewellers on Ashoka Road into their custody and on searching the carry bag the person was holding, the cops found gold ornaments in it following which, he was arrested and subjected to interrogation.

The arrested person has been identified as Amir Jan, a resident of Beedi Colony in Azeez Sait Nagar in city.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing the gold ornaments from a locked house at Holalakere in Chitradurga. The cops seized the gold ornaments weighing 113 grams and worth about Rs. 3 lakh from him. The CCB Police, later handed over the accused and the booty to Lashkar Police.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe supervised CCB ACP C. Gopal, SI Jayasheelan, ASIs K. Vijay and Sridhar and staff in the nabbing and seizing operation.
